OSRAM SYLVANIA is the #1 lighting manufacturer in North America and the leading automotive lighting supplier in the entire world. The Project Procurement Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all sourcing and procurement-related activities for assigned product portfolio and customer sales projects. This role serves as the primary Procurement interface to project leaders, Product Introduction Teams, engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and supplier partners, ensuring early Procurement involvement to optimize material cost, supplier selection, lead time, quality, and total cost of ownership.

The Project Procurement Manager is focused on delivering competitive sourcing solutions through supplier strategy execution, RFQ/RFI management, cost and value analysis, risk mitigation, contract coordination, supplier integration, and project sourcing governance. The position supports procurement strategy execution while contributing to project cost targets, material availability, supplier performance, and overall business objectives. This is a hybrid based position, with a preference for candidates located within the Greater New England area, as this role requires the ability to work on-site at least 3 days/week at our Hillsboro, NH office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Procurement Leadership
  • Serve as the single Procurement point of contact for assigned projects and product portfolios, representing Procurement within the Product Introduction Team and with the accountable project leader.
  • Manage procurement, sourcing, and supplier-focused activities in accordance with procurement strategies, project objectives, and applicable regulations to support achievement of project targets.
  • Sourcing Strategy and Supplier Selection
  • Develop and execute sourcing plans for assigned projects based on material demand, customer/project requirements, sales or marketing forecasts, and cross-functional input.
  • Support complexity reduction by selecting standard materials, preferred components, common platforms, and supplier solutions that reduce overall cost and material variants.
  • RFQ, Cost Analysis, and Negotiation
  • Prepare and execute RFIs and RFQs with suppliers for assigned project sourcing needs. Drive sourcing decisions based on total cost of ownership criteria, project timing, supplier performance, and defined procurement guidelines.
  • Identify and achieve cost savings through supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Supplier Management and Contracting
  • Initiate, communicate, and execute supplier qualification, selection, and contracting activities in close cooperation with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project-related procurement contract requirements with Commodity Business Management, Plant Procurement, Contract Management, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategy and compliance expectations.
  • Risk Management and Project Execution
  • Evaluate sourcing risks related to material availability, supply interruptions, supplier performance, project timing, claims, and potential liabilities.
  • Support project schedule targets, material lead time targets, target cost achievement, target cost improvement, contribution to net income, standardization targets, and recommended supplier coverage objectives.
  • Market and Technology Scouting
  • Initiate and support market, supplier, technology, and benchmarking activities to identify sourcing solutions aligned with project needs. Stay informed on relevant technologies, suppliers, trade publications, industry trends, meetings, and trade shows to support procurement decisions.

Who We Are Looking For

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, or a related technical field is required.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, especially for candidates supporting technical procurement, project sourcing, or category procurement activities. Experience in electronics manufacturing, including SMT technology, PCB, and LED-related technologies, is strongly preferred. Experience in sourcing, supplier management, supplier scouting, supplier qualification, sourcing planning, supplier integration, and value chain enhancement is preferred. International exposure is required or strongly preferred, as the role involves frequent interaction with global procurement teams, suppliers, and cross-functional partners.
