Families & Communities Rising, Inc. (FCR) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our Head Start/NC Pre-K team. This position requires a current North Carolina Birth–Kindergarten (BK) license

What You’ll Do- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Promote children’s literacy, language, math, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Create and maintain a safe, healthy, welcoming, and organized classroom.
- Collaborate with the assistant teacher and other classroom staff.
- Develop lesson plans and prepare classroom learning centers and materials.
- Use Creative Curriculum GOLD to assess and document children’s developmental progress.
- Maintain accurate attendance, meal, assessment, and classroom records.
- Build positive relationships with children and their families.
- Conduct required home visits and parent-teacher conferences.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding their child’s progress.
- Maintain active supervision of children in the classroom, on the playground, and during program activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, training, and program events.
- Follow Head Start Performance Standards, North Carolina childcare requirements, and FCR policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- At least one year of experience teaching preschool-aged children in a high-quality early childhood program.
- Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and pre-employment requirements.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of an active early childhood classroom, including lifting up to approximately 40 pounds.
- At least two years of experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed early childhood program.
- Previous Head Start or North Carolina Pre-K experience.
