Job DescriptionIntertek’s Building and Construction division is a suite of Intertek brands that are industry leaders across multiple architecture, engineering and construction disciplines. Intertek’s Building Science Solutions (BSS) group focuses on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.
RequirementsWe are looking for a Building Enclosure Consultant / Senior Project Manager who has significant experience with building enclosure consulting and commissioning for new and existing buildings, leads project teams, develops a client base, builds local BSS teams, and contributes technically to the overall group. Responsibilities include full project management, mentoring staff, building client relationships, reviewing deliverables, and traveling up to 25%.
Shift/ScheduleMonday – Friday 8 AM–5 PM
Salary & BenefitsThe salary range is $120,000 - $165,000. This position is bonus eligible. Compensation packages include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation/sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.
What you’ll do- Provide and lead building enclosure commissioning projects and train staff in BECx process
- Provide building enclosure consulting, commissioning, design and construction phase services for new building projects
- Provide building enclosure investigations and assessments for existing buildings and remedial repair designs when requested
- Prepare proposals for potential new work
- Assist in meeting profit center financial goals
- Prepare professionally written deliverables, proposals, technical reports, design reviews, etc.
- Assist in hiring and training new building sciences team members and mentor existing team members
- Assist the department manager with developing business and clients in the local area and assisting with national pursuits
- Participate in professional organizations, author papers, attend conferences, and/or perform work on technical committees
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Architectural Engineering and 10+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure consulting / industry
- OR 14+ years’ experience in Building Enclosure consulting / industry in lieu of the bachelor’s degree
- Professional registration as a Registered Architect (RA) or Structural Engineer (SE), or the ability to obtain within one year of hire
- Building enclosure commissioning experience and proficiency
- Significant technical understanding of building enclosure systems and construction
- Experience managing a range of small to large projects
- Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks in the field (e.g. work from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, swing stages, roofs)
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Consistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project team
- Ability to travel up to 25% outside local area
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
- Technical experience with diverse building types and enclosure systems
- Knowledge in computer modeling such as THERM, WUFI, Energy Plus, COMcheck, or similar tools
- Building enclosure testing including investigative testing
- Façade condition assessments
- Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam proficiency
- AutoCAD/Revit/BIM/Sketch-up proficiency
- Safety Training/Scaffold Certification
