Job OverviewDynamic Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a hands‑on CNC Set‑Up Technician/Operator with experience in manufacturing technical skills to work in day‑to‑day production at one of Dynamic’s remanufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate understands a manufacturing environment, exhibits technical aptitude, and has experience with deep‑hole drilling.
Core Responsibilities- Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to prepare machinery work.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers, height stands, calipers, etc.
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
- Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
- Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.
- Position and fasten work pieces.
- Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
- Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
- Advise clients about the materials being used for finished products.
- Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
- Work closely with Engineering and or cutting tool suppliers to continuously improve tool life.
- Design and create basic fixtures and tooling.
- Deep hole drilling experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn quickly.
- Commitment to continuous improvement through self‑education and company‑sponsored training.
- Follow instructions when given a project and take notes for personal growth.
- Willingness to enroll in a Tech/Trade School to expand upon Basic CNC.
- Recognize when there is a problem with operation/machine.
- Operate one or more CNC machines daily while maintaining all quality and safety requirements.
- Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized.
- Assist team leader, record production daily, identify and isolate non‑conforming product, load/unload machine safely.
- 3+ years of machining and/or manufacturing experience.
- Basic blueprint reading.
- Programming skills not limited to basic machine shop courses.
- Capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms for 8 hours or more.
- Willing and able to work overtime and as required.
- Willing to work any shift as necessary.
- Excellent communication of work instructions in English, verbally and written.
