Production Machinery Operator role at Pro Craft Cabinetry, Inc.
Base pay range: $20.00/hr - $25.00/hr
Summary Of PositionProduces machined wood parts by operating machine tools and performs routine maintenance to keep equipment safe and clean. Puts in place information in the shop floor management software and coordinates with teammates to meet the production schedule. Works with beam saws, CNC routers, edge banding machines and other production equipment.
Essential Job Functions- Produce machined wood parts by programming, setting up, and operating various equipment.
- Understand and demonstrate how to operate each machine.
- Maintain quality and safety standards.
- Keep records of job information.
- Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating parts, and changing cutting blades.
- Follow the production schedule and keep up to date with the product spec guide.
- Complete training on machinery.
- Communicate job information to other staff members.
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, materials and specifications.
- Load feed mechanism and verify settings by measuring positions and sampling part quality.
- Adhere to precise standards while drilling, garnishing, cutting, turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing.
- Detect malfunctions, troubleshoot and adjust or reprogram controls, sharpen and replace tools.
- Follow safety procedures and regulations.
- Complete preventive maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Document and communicate actions, irregularities and continuing needs among shifts.
- Maintain production and quality logs and grow in job knowledge through education and technical publications.
- 2 years of woodworking experience.
- Strong math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions and decimals.
- Problem‑solving ability: diagnose machine performance issues and correct errors.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision equipment.
- Stamina for repetitive movements and standing for long periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and slide products weighing 50‑100 lbs.
- Effective communication in English, verbal and written.
- Cabinet making experience.
- Experience with beam saws, CNC routers or edge banding machines.
