Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
Assistant Controller: (onsite, Hillside, NJ)
The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, managing a high‑performing team, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across multiple entities. This role will formalize, optimize, and oversee the month‑end close process, maintain ownership of the general ledger, and lead weekly cash flow reporting. The Assistant Controller will establish strong internal controls, improve processes, and support executive leadership with timely and reliable financial information.
Key Responsibilities:Month‑End Close & Financial Reporting
- Formalize, document, and continuously improve the month‑end close process.
- Oversee timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
- Review account reconciliations and supporting schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of the internal financial statements and reporting packages.
- Maintain ownership of the general ledger across multiple legal entities.
- Ensure accurate intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidations.
- Monitor chart of accounts structure and maintain accounting policies.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (or other applicable accounting frameworks).
- Prepare and oversee weekly cash flow reporting and forecasting.
- Monitor liquidity, working capital, and cash management processes.
- Partner with leadership to provide insight into cash trends and projections.
- Design, implement, and strengthen internal controls.
- Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings.
- Partner cross‑functionally with operations, HR, and executive leadership.
- Drive process automation and efficiency improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred).
- 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience.
- Experience managing accounting for multiple entities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience formalizing and improving month‑end close processes.
- Experience preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and schedules.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel proficiency (Sage X3 a plus).

The hiring range for this position based out of Hillside, NJ is between $130,000 and $140,000 per year.
