We are currently seeking to hire a Sanitation Operator for our food manufacturing facility in Hillside, NJ.

The Sanitation Operator will be responsible for keeping working areas in the production department in a clean and orderly condition. This operation is to be performed keeping safety as a primary objective and following established GMP, Safety, Regulatory and AAK Food service procedures and policies.

• Protect, cover, or remove boxes, material, or other industrial equipment that may be affected by the sanitation process.
• Collect and properly dispose of major dirt and /or product left over on production department floors or pans.
• Clean / prewash heavy oil, grease, and visible dirt from machines, overhead pipes, and conveyors.
• Wash walls and ceiling.
• Transport trash and waste to proper disposal area.
• Start pump to force cleaning solution through production machinery, piping or vats.
• Clean, sanitize, disassemble and assemble equipment according to company procedures.
• Clean processing equipment, overhead pipes, and conveyors.
• Scrub processing tanks, vats, and kettles.
• Clean floors with mop and/or use electrical scrubber.
• Operate industrial truck to transport materials within plant.
• Clean and change screens and filters.
• Must be trained and certified to use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA guidelines.
• Complete all required documentation for procedures performed.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Experience reading and understanding MSDS (Materials Safety Data Sheets)
• High School diploma or equivalent; or up to 6 months experience or training
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short memos
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US, now and in the future, without sponsorship.
