Operator - 2nd Shift (Heavy Duty) - Starting pay $18.06

Operator I will operate machines such as filling equipment, cappers, labelers, sealers, and related machinery to meet customer order driven production schedule. Duties include operating, repairing, and overhauling mechanical equipment, supervising machine operation, and ensuring safety as a primary objective while following GMP, safety, regulatory, and Stratas Foods procedures and policies.
Responsibilities- Must follow GMP’s and safety guidelines, wear PPE, and adhere to all safety rules.
- Determine machine adjustments based on product specifications and material requirements.
- Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
- Observe machine operation and detect product defects and/or machine malfunctions.
- Actively identify mechanical issues that could cause breakdown or downtime, report to supervisor, and help reduce downtime.
- Record reasons for downtime in CDC system.
- Stop and reset equipment when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report impairments to Production Supervisor.
- Perform periodic product sample weights to ensure proper fill weight and product quality versus customer standards.
- Replace and replenish containers of product to be filled and packaging supplies such as film, laminate, and mount rolls on spindles.
- Complete documentation required for product quality assurance.
- Perform changeovers and minor machine maintenance and adjustments as required, and communicate effectively with maintenance personnel when more substantial maintenance is needed.
- Provide assistance to mechanics during preventative maintenance and machine service or repairs following proper Lockout/Tag out procedures.
- High School Diploma.
- Experience operating in a fast-paced, ready-to-eat food facility is a plus.
- Ability to be self-guided and motivated to operate independently.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
Physical: This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, work in confined spaces, and at heights.
Sensory: Ability to hear, see, speak, smell, and touch well is necessary to perform basic essential tasks.
Pay Range: $18.06
