Union Beverage Packers, LLC is looking for skilled and dependable Industrial Maintenance Mechanics to support our beverage manufacturing operation.
We are hiring for all shifts, but we currently have a greater need for qualified candidates on 3rd shift
.
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and maintaining production equipment, plant machinery, and related systems. Candidates with experience working on Sidel blow molding equipment are strongly encouraged to apply.
The mechanic will work closely with Maintenance, Production, Quality Control, Sanitation, contractors, and equipment vendors to keep production running safely and efficiently.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment and plant machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration issues.
- Complete preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and equipment repairs.
- Diagnose equipment failures and make repairs to reduce downtime.
- Assist with equipment installation, modification, start-up, and production changeovers.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, machine manuals, and technical documents.
- Inspect equipment daily and report major problems to Maintenance leadership.
- Support blow molders, fillers, conveyors, palletizers, packaging equipment, and other production systems.
- Enter work orders and maintain accurate repair and maintenance records.
- Support production during equipment breakdowns and high-pressure situations.
- Follow all safety, GMP, food safety, quality, sanitation, and company procedures.
- Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
- Operating, monitoring, adjusting, and troubleshooting Sidel blow molding equipment.
- Completing machine changeovers, production start-ups, adjustments, and major repairs.
- Maintaining Sidel systems such as SBO, Matrix, Universal, Series 2, or similar equipment.
- Troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical problems.
- Working with Quality Control to make sure bottles meet company standards.
- Supporting bottle quality, process improvements, and downtime reduction.
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining blow molding and related production equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Industrial maintenance, mechanical, manufacturing equipment, or related technical experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond quickly to equipment problems.
- Ability to work at least 48 hours per week.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when required.
- Ability to work safely around production equipment and moving machinery.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, and pull during the shift.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a warm, loud, wet, and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
The following experience is preferred but not required:
- Hands-on experience maintaining or repairing Sidel blow molding equipment.
- Beverage, bottled water, soft drink, food manufacturing, plastics, PET packaging, or bottling experience.
- Experience with fillers, conveyors, palletizers, blow molders, and packaging equipment.
- Electrical, welding, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, or equipment installation experience.
- Experience with PLCs and automated production systems.
- Experience performing major machine repairs or equipment overhauls.
- Previous experience as a Sidel Field Service Engineer or Service Technician.
- Forklift or equipment certification.
- Basic computer skills for entering work orders and maintenance records.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with proper assistance or equipment.
- Stand and walk for long periods.
- Bend, reach, kneel, climb, push, and pull throughout the shift.
- Work around moving equipment, wet areas, noise, heat, and production activity.
- Follow all required safety procedures and PPE requirements.
