Current vacancy for the Department of Accounting & General Services. Salary: $6,221 to $7,568 per month (SR-24, Step D to I).

Location:

Financial Statements Section, Uniform Accounting and Reporting Branch, Accounting Division.

The position is responsible for the coordination of the annual Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA). Duties include interpreting the Federal Office of Management and Budget pronouncements, preparing instructions and SEFA data packages, analyzing and consolidating financial information, drafting financial statements and notes, and providing SEFA data input training to departmental personnel. The role also assists the Section Chief in coordinating the preparation of the State's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

• Legal Authorization to Work Requirement
  :
  The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
• Education
  : A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four‑year college or university with at least twelve (12) semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.
• Professional Accounting Experience
  :
  Three and one‑half (3 ½) years of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience, which may have included teaching accounting at the university level.
• Fund Control Experience
  :
  One (1) year of professional work experience interpreting and applying governmental accounting and reporting requirements and pronouncements, and analyzing and preparing governmental financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Substitution
  :
  Evidence of passing the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination may be substituted for the Fund Control experience requirement.
• Supervisory Aptitude
  :
  Demonstration of aptitude or potential for supervisory duties through successful completion of assignments involving supervisory responsibilities, such as serving as a group or team leader, completing supervision training courses, and/or receiving favorable supervisory appraisals indicating supervisory potential.
