Position: Grants & Contract Accountant- Hawaii
Grants & Contracts Accountant
The Grants & Contracts Accountant works under the direct supervision of the Hawaii County Coordinators. The Grants & Contracts Accountant has knowledge of, and is conversant with, accounting principles as it pertains to accrual, double-entry accounting.
A. Essential
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, with experience in Great Plains or other Computer accounting software and spreadsheet applications including Microsoft ExcelMinimum 5 years professional accounting work, which involves overseeing finance operations, and maintaining financial compliance requirements for Government contracts, with specific experience to non-profitsValid TB clearance and physicalValid Hawaii Driver's license and valid no-faultFBI/Criminal History, and CAN check clearedB.
Essential Functions:
Ensure that financial statements conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Assist the FIS Administrator with budgeting and costHandle insurance matters according to The Salvation ArmyResponsible for all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash/banking, monthly journal entries and general ledgerPrepare all government and other funding agencies financial reports in a timelyDevelop, review, and revise cost allocation with administrativePrepare necessary work papers/schedules and participate in annual internal and externalAssist DHQ & FIS Administration with budgets and budget amendments on a timelyPrepare bi-weekly payrollProvide DHQ & FIS Administration with monthly reports with information deemed necessary for the continued financial stability of each program (contract).Assist in preparation of budgetary information in response to government and other agency requests for proposals.Provide DHQ & FIS Administration with monthly reports with information deemed necessary for the continued stability of each contract.Make financial decisions in the absence of Program Directors in compliance with contract requirements.Other Functions:
