SalaryLevel II: $4,054 – $5,133 per month (SR-14, Step C to I)
Level III: $4,388 – $5,555 per month (SR-16, Step C to I)
Duties SummaryThese positions perform secretarial services as a primary work assignment, along with minor administrative, clerical and related services for a program manager who is involved in planning, programming, budgeting, and coordination. The Administrative Assistant acts on behalf of the manager, facilitating workflow and management controls, and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
providing personal assistance to the manager or administrator, supervising and performing complex clerical work, maintaining confidential and accurate records, coordinating communications, and supporting program and organizational objectives.
- General Experience Requirement:
Six (6) months of work experience involving English grammar, spelling, arithmetic, and the ability to read and understand instructions. - Specialized Experience Requirement (Level II):
Two (2) years of progressively responsible typing or substantive clerical work, knowledge of office equipment, and the ability to perform secretarial tasks such as telephone reception, file maintenance, travel arrangements, correspondence, and computer applications. - Specialized Experience Requirement (Level III):
Two (2) years of progressively responsible typing or substantive clerical work plus one (1) year of experience performing secretarial duties for an executive or administrator, including overall awareness of program activities, sound judgment, and support of administrative framework.
- High school graduation may substitute for the General Experience.
- Excess Specialized Experience may substitute for General Experience.
- Completion of a full‑time clerk/office support curriculum of 15 semester credits may substitute for six (6) months of Specialized Experience, up to one (1) year.
- Baccalaureate coursework of 15 semester credits may substitute for up to one (1) year of Specialized Experience.
- Selective Certification may be required for specific duties; certification will limit eligibility to those with the pertinent experience.
