The City and County of Honolulu, Department of Customer Services, is seeking a skilled and adaptable Administrative Specialist to support the Division of Motor Vehicles daily operations. This position serves as a key administrative resource for personnel administration, recruitment, budget and procurement activities, employee training, and operational reporting. You will work closely with the division's leadership to ensure critical administrative functions are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with City policies and procedures.
WhatYou'll Do
- Assist with developing the division's budget requests
- Review and process procurement documents, contracts, purchase orders, and related administrative transactions
- Track expenditures and help ensure that funds are used in accordance with operating budget policies and procedures
- Process paperwork and coordinate personnel and recruitment activities
- Advise on personnel procedures and assist with labor relations
- Coordinate employee training opportunities

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTEquivalent to graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field.
SubstitutionWork experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year‑for‑year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree.
Education must have been completed by the time of application in order to be credited. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at an accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, proper documentation, e.g., a foreign credential evaluation (FCE), must be provided.
