DescriptionREAD ADVERTISEMENT
**** Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire appointments, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits provided to regular Board of Regents or Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.
Title:
(Casual Hire) Assistant Registrar
- Process and review admissions applications and supporting documents, including transcripts, residency information, and other required materials.
- Respond to applicant and student questions regarding admissions requirements, application status, registration, student records, and related Admissions and Records procedures.
- Carry out Admissions and Records office functions in accordance with University of Hawaii System, State of Hawaii, and federal policies, procedures, rules, and regulations related to admissions, registration, Veterans Affairs education benefits, international student requirements, and student educational records.
- Prepare, update, and disseminate communications regarding admissions requirements and deadlines, registration, student educational records, Veterans Affairs education benefits, and other Admissions and Records functions.
- Participate in end-of-term processing and the creation, maintenance, review, and verification of student educational records.
- Review and update admissions, registration, and student records information in the college catalog, college website, forms, and other media to promote accuracy and consistency.
- Review and update the student degree audit system to accurately reflect approved program changes, course substitutions, waivers, and degree requirements.
- Collaborate with the student degree audit system builder and the Counseling, Advising, and Student Support Center to monitor registration error reports and research and resolve registration issues.
- Protect the confidentiality and security of applicant and student information in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and University policies.
- Work outside normally scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Education, Counseling, Social Sciences, Humanities, Liberal Studies, or a related field or equivalent education/training or experience.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered, provided they demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties of the position.
