Position:
Temporary full-time Economic Development Specialist, Level IV, Department of Agriculture & Biosecurity, Downtown.
Salary: $5,527 to $6,728 per month (SR-22, Step D to I).
Duties SummaryResponsible for supervising and participating in planning, developing, and implementing economic development programs and activities. Participate in the development of programs that promote Hawaii’s products and encourage the expansion of business and the attraction of new business to Hawaii. Conduct research and analyses on a wide variety of economic development topics, prepare reports of findings and recommendations, and perform other related duties as assigned.
MinimumQualification Requirements
- Legal Authorization to Work: citizen, national, permanent resident, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Basic
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university in marketing, business administration, business or commercial law, economics, finance, foreign trade, or a closely related field, including completion of at least three semester hours in statistics and knowledge of the general principles of economics, business statistical methodology, and business management and administration. - Specialized
Experience:
2½ years of professional work experience that demonstrates possession and application of knowledge in marketing and business feasibility research and analysis, all phases of marketing—including product development, pricing, sales, advertising and promotion, distribution, and marketing controls; business practices related to wholesale, retail, manufacturer distribution, distribution costs, finance and tax structure, planning and management; and familiarity with governmental organizations and programs related to business and economics. - Substitutions Allowed:
Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements. - Driver’s License:
Valid driver’s license required at the time of appointment.
