Contract Manager I

As a Contract Manager I, you will play a key role in developing, negotiating, administering, and monitoring contracts while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational procurement regulations. This position partners with internal departments, vendors, and leadership to secure high‑quality, cost‑effective goods and services that support exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, negotiate, administer, and monitor a variety of contracts, purchase orders, agreements, and procurement documents in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Review procurement requests, develop bid specifications and scopes of work, prepare solicitations (IFBs, RFPs, RFQs), evaluate proposals, and coordinate contract awards.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise on procurement, contracting, purchasing, contract administration, acquisition planning, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor contractor performance, negotiate contract modifications and amendments, resolve contract issues, and maintain complete contract records from award through closeout.
- Analyze acquisition processes, recommend policy and procedural improvements, and support regional purchasing and contracting initiatives.
- Build collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, vendors, legal counsel, and other stakeholders while promoting excellent customer service and professional communication.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four‑year college or university. Relevant professional administrative, analytical, or contracting experience may substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Three and one‑half (3½) years of progressively responsible experience in contract development, procurement, purchasing, or contract administration, including experience with bid specifications, contract negotiations, proposal evaluations, and contract compliance.
- Demonstrated supervisory aptitude or leadership potential.
- No certification or licensure required.
- Knowledge of procurement, acquisition management, and contract administration principles and practices.
- Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local procurement laws, regulations, and contracting standards.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with vendors, legal counsel, leadership, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
