Position: Construction Project Manager I

The ideal candidate must reside in the Big Island and has experience with estimating, proposal preparation, project execution, client management, and familiarity with various types of project and contract documents. As an Construction Project Manager I, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects, working closely with office and field management, subcontractors, and clients to ensure efficient execution, cost management, and quality control.

The Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Wage: $39.92 — $49.04 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and refine field workflows; ensure digital job folders and project documentation are consistently maintained and up to date.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day project activities from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with budget, timeline, and quality expectations.
  • Act as a key liaison between field teams and office personnel, fostering clear and efficient communication across all departments.
  • Support client qualification and project planning, including site visits to assess material and labor needs.
  • Assist in estimating, developing budgets, and building detailed project schedules during pre‑construction planning.
  • Coordinate and schedule field crews, delegate tasks to foremen, and supervise subcontractor activities.
  • Manage client relationships, set clear expectations, and oversee finish selections, submittals, and change orders.
  • Ensure full compliance with contract terms, project specifications, safety standards, and inspection requirements.
  • Monitor and protect company assets, including tools, vehicles, equipment, and materials.:li>
  • Provide accurate monthly billing forecasts and maintain financial communication with internal teams.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation using designated company systems.
  • Provide coaching and direction to junior staff to promote growth, efficiency, and overall team performance.
  • Conduct quality checks, safety inspections, and proactively resolve field personnel issues.
  • Identify potential project risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
  • Support senior project managers with contract administration and change order management.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times, including proper attire and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Related field.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and Blue Beam or Adobe Acrobat.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    Understanding construction contracts, OSHA safety regulations and permitting and adherence to safety rules and completion of company‑specific safety orientation.
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work in a team environment and adhere to the company's core values of Accountability, Honesty, and Effective Communication.
  • Transportation:
    Must have reliable transportation to and from job site.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Moderate noise level in office and job sites.
  • Stand, walk, bend, sit, and reach with hands/arms as required.
  • Regular use of hands for handling documents and equipment.
