Position: MAINTENANCE PROJECTS COORDINATOR (WORK PROGRAM COORDINATOR) (SR-22) [2 vacancies]

Department of Parks and Recreation – Maintenance Projects Coordinator (Work Program Coordinator) Responsibilities

  • Prepare Plans & Specifications – Develop work programs and construction project documents.
  • Conduct Field Inspections – Evaluate maintenance requests and estimate project costs.
  • Monitor Project Progress – Ensure timelines, budgets and labor projections are met.
Special Working Conditions
  • May be required to work on weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Serves as a Disaster Response worker during declared emergencies.

Salary: $5,369 per month (SR‑22).

Education Requirement

Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with major work in business administration, public administration, civil or structural engineering, or a related field.

Work experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year‑for‑year basis.

Experience Requirement
  • Three (3) years of professional financial or program analysis, estimating or purchasing experience, one of which shall have involved building construction and maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrate understanding of tools, equipment, materials and practices used in building construction and maintenance operations.
  • Apply applicable laws, ordinances, policies and regulations governing building construction and maintenance work.
  • Plan, prioritize and schedule maintenance and construction tasks effectively.
  • Develop bid documents, specifications and related procurement materials.
  • Prepare projections and detailed estimates of equipment, materials and labor required for maintenance and repair work.
  • Interpret and apply applicable laws, rules and regulations to maintenance and construction activities.
License Requirement

Possession of a valid automobile/Type 3 driver’s license prior to appointment.

Honolulu Police Department – Maintenance Projects Coordinator (Work Program Coordinator) Responsibilities
  • Prioritize & Manage Repairs – Review, budget and process maintenance and renovation requests.
  • Coordinate Projects – Work with the Department of Facility Maintenance and private contractors.
  • Review Technical Documents – Interpret blueprints and contracts.
  • Oversee Building Systems – Monitor repairs involving security, cabling, mechanical and electrical systems.
Special Working Conditions
  • May be required to work on weekends, evenings and holidays.

Salary: $5,369 – $6,283 per month (SR‑22). Actual salary will be commensurate with applicable experience, pending approval.
