Superintendent.

Job Summary

This position will lead and manage the on-site construction teams and oversee all work on-site for one or more construction projects. The superintendent will be responsible for orderliness on-site and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Manages all trades and daily activities related to the project. Engages and communicates effectively with design professionals, consultants, and customers and directs all subcontractors and other construction personnel in planning, coordinating, and safely executing work within the scope of the contract, budget, and schedule.

You will ensure quality standards are met, and all equipment and materials are available on-site at all times. You will liaise with inspection authorities regarding approvals.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Responsible for directing and managing trades, sub-contractors, on-site work equipment, and visitors to maximize efficiency, production, and safety
  • Coordinate and maintain construction schedules to ensure projects are being completed on time and according to drawings and specs
  • Create schedules for workers and subcontractors
  • Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials, and other project costs
  • Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Source, manage and inspect the work of trades and subcontractors
  • Maintain a daily log for the job site's operations, reporting to management as necessary
  • Understand project scope and execute company processes, policies, and procedures accurately
  • Comply with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements and statutory reporting
  • Provides updates of project timetables, budget, and deliverables to internal stakeholders
  • Enforces the organization’s safety policies in accordance with OSHA and by establishing a climate that emphasizes safety on the job for the entirety of the project
  • Monitoring and ensuring on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness
  • Obtains and monitors all permits, building certificates, and city inspections and become familiar with all local building enforcement procedures, in accordance with standard operations procedure
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all subcontractors, the property management team, develop good community relations with local civil and government offices, utility, vendors, and other businesses
  • Track and report project activities, managing the schedule and conditions of project timeline to avoid unnecessary overtime and cost over‑run
  • Identify problems early and act immediately to provide solutions
  • Coordinating and overseeing all work on site
  • Attending production meetings
  • Reviewing and becoming familiar with the schedule and budget, and ensuring adherence to these
  • Ensuring quality standards are met
  • Placing orders for materials, and is responsible for equipment and materials on site
  • Following the project timeline to ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintaining records for site personnel such as daily field reports, field orders, and RFIs
  • Liaising with inspection authorities regarding approvals
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and PPE procedures
  • Ability to conduct accident investigations and safety inspections
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements
  • Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents
  • Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry
  • Proficient Microsoft Office productivity suite
  • Experience in managing large or multiple facilities
