Performers wanted for the "Little Shop of Horrors" show. Only local talent will be considered.
About the ProjectLittle Shop of Horrors satirizes science fiction, ’B’ movies, musical comedy, and the Faust legend. The script keeps its tongue firmly in cheek, so actors should not. Instead, they should play with simplicity, honesty, and sweetness—playing the show’s style in a child‑like sincerity and intensity.
Audition Requirements- All auditionees must prepare 32 bars (1 minute) of a song to sing vide the song name and a You Tube link on the registration form.
- If auditioning for Puppeteer, you will also perform a lip‑sync to 32 bars and provide a song name and link.
- If auditioning for a lead role, prepare a 1‑minute monologue in addition to singing 32 bars.
- Prepare to learn and perform a segment of dance on the day of auditions.
- Arrive 15 minutes prior to your audition time to check in and verify registration.
- Complete the digital registration form by EOD Friday, July
10th. - Video submissions are accepted for those unable to attend in person. Choose the "video" option on the registration form and submit by EOD Sunday, July
10th. No exceptions.
- All lead‑role auditionees must be available Wednesday, July
15, from 6:00 to 9:00pm for possible callbacks by the artistic team. - Those called for callbacks will receive specific details via email.
- If you do not receive an invitation, it does not mean you are not cast. The full cast announcement will be sent by Thursday, July
16 via email.
The artistic team will create a rehearsal schedule that breaks the show into workable units. Rehearsals are 1 to 2½ hours long, depending on the material. Expected rehearsal times:
- Monday: 6:00pm – 8:30pm (Palace Theater)
- Tuesday: 6:00pm – 8:30pm (PPAC or TBA)
- Thursday: 6:00pm – 8:30pm (PPAC or TBA)
- Sunday: 10:00am – 12:30pm (Palace Theater)
