DESCRIPTION:
The P CP PAYMENT PROCESSING Department of the P REVENUE MANAGEMENT Division at Hawaiian Electric Company has 1 Bargaining Unit vacancy available. (Role: Non-Exempt)
JOB FUNCTION:
Performs customer service clerical work; operates Company-wide telephone system.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Researches customer accounts regarding billing amounts, payments, adjustments, etc; provides routine information to customers; writes up bill inquiries received.
- Tabulates and reconciles payments being made to banks; identifies payments with incomplete customer information, and prepares cash summary sheets.
- Performs cash processing duties as assigned; applies payments to customer accounts, and prepares checks for deposit to banks.
- Prepares and processes routine service order changes such as telephone numbers, mailing address, etc.
- Assists in receiving payments from customers over the counter; grants routine credit extensions.
- Sorts and distributes bills, computer reports, etc.
- Receives and routes incoming phone calls, places long distance calls; reports trouble to telephone company; keeps records for telephone billing purposes. When not operating the telephone switchboard, performs customer service duties such as posting of data; gathering, tabulating; checking and assembling of information; typing; filing; etc.
- Operates computer terminal to input, change, delete, and retrieve information form source document. Provides routine information to customers.
- Relieves and/or substitutes for other clerical personnel in the department.
- Performs similar and incidental duties as required.
- Assume an emergency management role, as assigned, and perform specific assignments or functions, as needed, in an event of an emergency, not to include routine trouble calls/callouts.
- Must pass the Edison Electric Institute Support & Administrative Selection System (SASS).
- Must pass the SRA Oral & Written Directions Test.
- Must have or be able to complete customer focus training such as phone etiquette, effective listening, etc.
- Ability to type a minimum of 45 w.p.m. (to be determined by company administered test).
