Conditions:
Appointment to begin approximately August 2024, pending position clearance and availability of funding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Teach Spanish language courses (12 credits per semester).
* Provide academic advising to students.
* Participate in department, academic, university and community service.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Master's Degree in Spanish Language from a college or university of recognized standing.
* Minimum of four (4) years teaching Spanish Language at the Associate Instructor level, or equivalent.
* Successful teaching with emphasis on diversity experience for student success.
* Experience in teaching the first two years (courses 101-102, 201-202) of Spanish Language.
* Native or near-native Spanish Language is required.
* Documented evidence of maintaining the required class enrollment level for 5 years.
Desirable
Qualifications:
* Experience in teaching in multiple modalities (online, face to face, hybrid, etc.)
* Experience in teaching diverse student populations with interest in developing pedagogical skills to do so.
* Evidence of excellence in teaching such as teaching awards or commendations.
* Previous experience overseeing a language lab and managing language tutors.
