Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a comprehensive training and professional development program that promotes positive growth and development of children and youth IAW all applicable regulations and standards.
- Design, administer and conduct the Foundation, Annual/On-Going training requirements based on course outlines; conduct training on-the-job and in classroom settings.
- Design and implement annual CYS program plan to include training goals and objectives, plan to meet individual staff needs, curriculum framework covering social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of children/youth.
- Observe staff in appropriate program settings throughout all hours of operation to assess and evaluate competency and provide feedback.
- Manage program budget, conduct written analyses of budget variances, and prepare justification for funding of program resource requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) with a minimum of 24 semester hours in a child development or related field (e.g., behavioral science, childhood education, elementary education).
- At least 12 months of experience working in child and youth programs.
- At least one year of experience in a similar or higher level role requiring application of knowledge, skills and abilities of this position.
- Ability to plan and organize work, analyze problems, gather data, and recognize solutions.
- Experience in planning and conducting training for child and youth staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Direct deposit and Social Security Card required.
- Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
- One-year probationary period may be required.
- Successful completion of an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre‑employment checks in accordance with AR 215‑3, para.
2, including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. - Completion of the Crime Control Act and maintenance of certification.
- Satisfactory performance, completion of training requirements, and demonstrated on‑the‑job competency.
- Travel to on and off post locations required.
- Must have current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy (including annual influenza vaccinations).
- This position is part of a pay‑banded system;
Sunday premium pay and night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. - Entitled to an 8.64% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), subject to change without notice.
- Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government’s interest.
