(CASUAL) Head Coach – Men and Women’s Tennis
Location:
University of Hawai'i at Hilo
Position type:
Part‑time temporary (maximum 19 hours per week)
Salary: $40,000 per season
Appointment:
Casual Hire, temporary, expected to begin July 2026, not to exceed one year.
- Develop a competitive program in the Pacific West Conference
- Recruit and retain academically and athletically motivated student‑athletes who positively impact the program and campus
- Plan, schedule, and conduct team practices and workouts
- Prepare annual conference and non‑conference schedules for submission to the Director of Athletics
- Manage all aspects of home contests, including coordination of facilities and officials
- Make travel arrangements for the entire travel party
- Coordinate team travel with the Associate Athletic Director, arranging flights, lodging, rental cars, and providing documentation to process travel requests and completions
- Provide necessary documentation to office staff for travel request/completion processing
- Maintain inventory, order, and manage uniforms, supplies, and equipment as needed
- Coordinate the program’s fundraising activities and alumni outreach
- Complete and submit all required compliance forms (e.g., CARA, recruitment logs) in a timely manner
- Adhere to the rules, regulations, and policies of the University of Hawai'i, the Athletics Department, the Pacific West Conference, and the NCAA
- Perform other duties/functions as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field and three (3) years/seasons of coaching collegiate tennis experience; or an equivalent combination of education and coaching experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Proficiency with Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to travel in‑state and out‑of‑state
- Prior NCAA Division II coaching experience
- Experience coaching men’s golf at the collegiate level in a head coach position
