As a DOE Contract BCBA at Applied ABC, you will provide behavioral consultation and ABA support services within school settings across Hawaii. You will help students access their education more successfully while supporting educators and families with evidence‑based behavioral strategies tailored to school environments and local community needs. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure behavioral programming aligns with IEP goals, DOE requirements, and best clinical practices while respecting the cultural and community contexts of Hawaii’s students and families.
ClinicalResponsibilities
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for students receiving special education services
- Provide behavioral consultation and support within classroom, school, and community‑based educational settings
- Supervise and support RBTs, paraprofessionals, and school staff using evidence‑based ABA practices
- Train educators and caregivers on behavior strategies, de‑escalation techniques, reinforcement systems, and implementation fidelity
- Monitor student progress through data collection, analysis, and ongoing program adjustments
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, manifestation determinations, and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support crisis intervention and behavioral stabilization as needed within school guidelines
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with DOE, IDEA, FERPA, BACB, Medicaid, and district policies
- Collaborate with school leadership and service providers to support inclusive educational programming across campuses
- Active BCBA certification in good standing
- Master’s Degree in ABA, Psychology, Education, or related field
- State licensure where applicable
- Experience in school‑based, DOE, or special education settings
- Experience conducting FBAs and developing BIPs
- Strong understanding of IDEA, IEP processes, and behavioral compliance standards
