OverviewThe Lecturer will teach courses in the Bachelor’s of Accounting program, including Business Administration (including Business Law), Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Auditing, Tax, and Governmental Accounting. The role requires availability for courses during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare course schedule, syllabus, and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Conduct lectures online, in the classroom, or in the field for each course as scheduled/assigned.
- Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course as scheduled/assigned.
- Provide a student evaluation report to the Dean/Director with a 50% or higher response rate.
- Perform other related tasks and/or duties as assigned.
- Possesses a Master’s degree in a field related to the area of teaching.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
- Professional engagement (consulting, running a business, etc.) or certification within six years of the teaching assignment in a relevant business field.
- Demonstrated high‑quality instruction at the college level.
- Active research agenda (recent or forthcoming publications, works in progress).
- Possesses a Doctoral degree in a field related to the area of teaching assignment.
- Evidence of prior success teaching at University of Hawai'i at Hilo.
