The Hawaii State Department of Education seeks a dedicated special educator in Hilo, Hawaii. In this role, you will implement and monitor Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems for both verbal and non-verbal learners. The position focuses on adapting curriculum to address a range of cognitive levels, ensuring that students gain functional skillsets necessary for daily living.
You will work closely with therapists and school nurses to support medically fragile students, following strict health protocols. A valid Special Education license and special education classroom experience are required.
