University Professor, Academic, College Lecturer
Lecturer (Geology) – College of Natural and Health Sciences, Department of Geology, University of Hawai‘i t‑time, temporary, non‑tenure position for the academic year 2026‑2027. Must be available to teach courses during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses in Geology.
- Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Maintain a minimum of 2 office hours per week for each course taught, up to a maximum of 5 office hours per week.
- Master’s degree in Geology or a related field.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
- Doctoral degree in Geology or a related field.
- Demonstrated high‑quality instruction and teaching effectiveness at the college level.
- Cover letter indicating discipline(s) or course(s) for which you are seeking a Lecturer appointment and how you meet the minimum and desirable qualifications.
- A current curriculum vitae / resume.
- Names and contact information (telephone number and email addresses) of at least three professional references.
- Transcript(s) showing degrees and course work appropriate to the position (copies are acceptable; original official transcripts will be required prior to employment).
Do not include self‑identifying photos. Redact Social Security number and birth date on transcript copies. Documents issued from an institution outside the United States require a course‑by‑course analysis with an equivalency statement from a nationally recognized credential evaluation agency; the applicant bears the cost of the evaluation. All required documents become the property of the University. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
