Description
Lecturer (Computer Science) – University of Hawai'i at Hilo, College of Natural and Health Sciences – Computer Science. Part‑time, temporary, non‑tenure position. Availability required for day, evening, weekend, or distance learning instruction. Position contingent on course offerings, enrollment, funding, and clearance.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned courses in the Computer Science curriculum.
- Prepare course schedules, syllabi, and student progress reports.
- Maintain a minimum of one on‑campus/in‑person office hour per week for each course taught.
- Work under the supervision of the Computer Science Chairperson.
- Commit to higher education principles and philosophy.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, or a doctoral degree in an appropriate subject area (Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer & Information Sciences, Data Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Management of Information Systems).
- Experience teaching Computer Science at a university or community college level.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with university students and diverse student populations.
- Cover letter explaining desired discipline(s) or course(s) and how qualifications meet the role.
- Current curriculum vitae / resume.

- Transcripts showing degrees and coursework relevant to the position (copies acceptable; originals required prior to employment).
