Description
Lecturer (Data Science) at the University of Hawaii at Hilo is a part-time, temporary position. Appointment is contingent on course availability, enrollment, and funding.
Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare course schedules, syllabi, and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Teach assigned courses in the data science curriculum.
- Work under the supervision of the data science program coordinator.
- Maintain a minimum of one on campus in person office hour per week per course taught.
- Master's degree in Data Science or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in Python or R.
- Experience teaching Data Science, Python, R, Machine Learning, or Statistics courses at the university or community college level.
- Industry or research experience related to data science.
- Cover letter indicating desired discipline(s) or course(s) and how qualifications meet the role.
- Current curriculum vitae or resume.
- Names and contact information (telephone and email) of at least three professional references.
- Transcripts showing degrees and coursework appropriate to the position (copies acceptable; original official transcripts required prior to employment).
