Duties SummaryResponsible for conducting and/or coordinating the various hunter education program activities. The work involves coordinating and conducting hunter education certification classes; providing support to volunteer instructors and resolving classroom problems; developing and presenting promotional and informational activities concerning hunter education, outdoor recreation, safety and related information as assigned by a higher level specialist; preparing informational and educational materials to promote the hunter education program;
participating in the development of mandated certification courses; and performing other education related program activities as assigned.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Legal Authorization to Work:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States. - Education:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. - Hunter Education
Experience:
Six months of responsible work experience in hunter education activities that demonstrated knowledge of legal requirements pertaining to hunting, basic principles of wildlife conservation and management, types and uses of firearms and other hunting methods, firearm/outdoor safety, and survival/first aid. - Education/Training
Experience:
One year of progressively responsible professional work experience in a program of training and/or education as an instructor, or other comparable professional position. Such experience must have involved
