Job Title and Location
Part-Time Mental Health Clinical Faculty – Chamberlain College of Nursing, Honolulu, Oahu, Maui, Lanai, and Kauai, Hawaii.
Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking qualified mental health clinical faculty to teach and supervise clinical experiences for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. This part-time visiting professor position offers a flexible schedule, competitive compensation, and opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities- Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
- Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
- Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
- Make self-available to staff at agencies.
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on performance based on course objectives.
- Be available for remediation of students as required.
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of agency/clinical personnel.
- Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
- Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
- Contribute to ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.
- May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator.
- Keep course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
- Work with college administration, staff, and other faculty to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.
- Participate in implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and both departmental and campus policies.
- Serve as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students in customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism.
- Utilize relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win-win negotiation.
- Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
- Report to the dean or assistant dean; a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight.
- Handle related duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
- Master's Degree in Nursing (required).
- At least 2 years of nursing practice experience within the last 5 years (required).
- Excellent communication skills with high initiative and prudent judgment.
- Professional nurse licensure required in the state of practice (Illinois). Illinois RN license will be required to teach all courses.
- Illinois RN License required to teach all courses (course assignments prioritized to licensed professors).
Compensation is $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on factors such as type of course taught, experience, training, geographic location, licensure, certifications, market factors, departmental budgets, and responsibility.
