Lecturer, CC (Digital Media Art)

Location:

East Hawaii (Hilo), West Hawaii (Kailua-Kona), and/or North Hawaii (Honokaa) Campuses

Salary:
Minimum $1,978 per credit

Temporary, Part‑Time, Non‑Tenure‑Track

Other Conditions

Assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds and staffing. Must attend meetings and trainings on short notice and teach courses in person as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct lecture and, as appropriate, laboratory courses in the discipline.
  • May include instructional assignments involving distance education.
  • Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
  • Possible evening, weekend, and off‑campus assignments.
  • Conduct student evaluations of teaching effectiveness.
  • Participate in assessment of course learning outcomes.
  • Adhere to all due dates, including online submission of grades.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's in Fine Arts in Studio Art with specialization in new media art or related discipline and 1 year of industry experience.
  • Or any Master's degree with coursework in new media art or related discipline and 3 years of industry experience.
  • Or any Bachelor's degree with coursework in new media art or related discipline and 5 years of industry experience.
  • Or any Associate's degree with coursework in new media art or related discipline and 7 years of industry experience.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Willingness to work with Running Start and Early College programs and pass required additional screening.
  • Demonstrated commitment and/or experience supporting student success.
