Lecturer; Mathematics

Description

Lecturer (Mathematics) – part‑time, temporary, non‑tenure position at University of Hawai‘i at Hilo (College of Natural and Health Sciences – Mathematics). The appointment is for the Academic Year 2026‑2027 and is contingent upon course offerings, student enrollment, position clearance, and funding availability. Candidates must be available to teach during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning as needed.

• Teach assigned mathematics or statistics courses.
• Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
• Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress.

• Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, or a closely related discipline relevant to the courses being taught.
• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.

• Doctoral degree in mathematics or statistics from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated high‑quality instruction and teaching effectiveness at the college level.

• Cover letter indicating discipline(s) or course(s) for which you are seeking a Lecturer appointment, and how you meet the minimum and desirable qualifications.
• Current curriculum vitae/resume.
• Names and contact information of at least three professional references.
• Transcripts showing degrees and course work appropriate to the position (copies acceptable; original official transcripts required prior to employment).
