Lecturer, CC (Automotive Mechanics Technology)
LocationHawai'i Community College – East Hawaii (Hilo), West Hawaii (Kailua-Kona), and/or North Hawaii (Honokaa) Campuses
Employment TypePart‑time, temporary, non‑tenure track
SalaryMinimum $1,978.00 per credit
Responsibilities- Conduct lecture and, as appropriate, laboratory courses in Automotive Mechanics Technology.
- May include instructional assignment involving distance education.
- Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
- Possible evening, weekend, and off‑campus assignments.
- Conduct student evaluations of teaching effectiveness.
- Participate in assessment of course learning outcomes.
- Adhere to all due dates, including the online submission of grades.
- (a) Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering or Industrial Education, 3 years of related work experience, and ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification.
- (b) Associate’s degree in Automotive Engineering or Industrial Education, 5 years of related work experience, and ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification.
- (c) 15 college credits, 7 years of related work experience (including training), and ASE (Automotive Excellence) certification.
- Willingness to work with Running Start and Early College programs and pass required additional screening.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting student success.
