Position: Lecturer, CC (Business Technology)

Lecturer, CC (Business Technology)

Location:

East Hawaii (Hilo), West Hawaii (Kailua-Kona), and/or North Hawaii (Honokaa) Campuses

Part-Time Temporary (Non-tenure track) assignment; participation in Spring, Summer, and/or Fall lecturer pool. Must be able to attend meetings and trainings on short notice and teach courses in person as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, conduct lecture and, as appropriate, laboratory courses in the discipline.
  • Instructional assignment may involve distance education.
  • Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
  • Possible evening, weekend, and off-campus assignments.
  • Conduct student evaluations of teaching effectiveness.
  • Participate in assessment of course learning outcomes.
  • Adhere to all due dates, including the online submission of grades.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Education; or
  • Master's degree in a Business related field (Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Information Technology, Finance, or similar) with a minimum of 18 credits in Business Technology or Administrative Support courses (UHCC BUSN alpha courses or similar); or
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Education and 3 years of related work experience (within the last 5 years) that includes skills taught in Business Technology Programs, e.g., records management following ARMA procedures, document formatting, etc.; and/or secondary or postsecondary Business Education teaching experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in a Business related field with at least 18 credits in Business Technology or Administrative Support courses and 3 years of related work experience (within the last 5 years) that includes skills taught in Business Technology Programs; and/or secondary or postsecondary Business Education teaching experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in any field and 3 years of related work experience (within the last 5 years) that includes skills taught in Business Technology Programs; and/or secondary or postsecondary Business Education teaching experience.

If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Willingness to work with Running Start and Early College programs and pass required additional screening as necessary.
  • Demonstrated commitment and/or experience supporting the success of students.
