Academic Coach - Temporary

Position Overview

Grand Canyon University! One of Arizona’s leading institutions of higher learning. Grand Canyon University is seeking an Academic Coach. This temporary position will be located on the Schofield Barracks Army Base. This role starts in August 2026 and is expected to end mid-December 2026. Pay: $30.00 per hour.

Location:

Schofield Barracks, Hawaii 96857.

• Provide tutoring and support in English and Math to help candidates prepare for BSEP.
• Collect and maintain candidate data related to tutoring assistance, assessment, and progress monitoring.
• Provide feedback and coaching to help candidates improve their study habits.
• Provide consistent guidance to candidates that align with program outcomes and requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of candidate records and services provided.
• Utilize electronic resources such as video‑conferencing technology for scheduling candidates.
• Maintain clear communication with candidates and Base staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Must be able to obtain personal military credentials for access to U.S. military bases.
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
• Bonus:
  Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred.
