Special Education Teacher

Position: 12-Mo Special Education District Office Teacher

Blind Visually Impaired

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of a state-approved Special Education teacher preparation program, demonstrated experience teaching students with disabilities, proficiency in understanding and utilizing SMILE data collection systems.

Professional Dispositions:

Self-Direction:
Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Communication:
Must be an effective listener and communicator (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate professionally with administrators, staff, and parents.

Presentation

Skills:

Ability to present material with confidence to various audiences, including colleagues and leadership.

Organization:
Must be highly organized with great time management skills to handle caseloads and deadlines.

Critical Thinking:
Demonstrated ability to be a proactive problem solver in dynamic educational settings.

Desired

Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates who possess the following:
Experience with Evaluation/Eligibility processes and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Background in literacy, math, behavior, and/or writing coaching and mentoring. Experience designing and delivering professional development to staff. Previous leadership experience (e.g., Department Head or Team Lead).

Payday:
