Position Title: Hawaii Statewide Youth Line Trainer
Status:Full-Time/Non-exempt
Reports To:Maui Deputy Director of Operations and Statewide Community Engagement
Location:Hawaii
Compensation: The starting salary for this position is $25.50 per hour. This role is eligible for insurance benefits, a matching 401k retirement plan, professional development funds, and a free fitbit. Work site to work site mileage reimbursement. Additional compensation includes a $2.00/hour differential for employees with a Master's degree. Additional details are provided below.
Schedule: Typical schedule is M-F with flexible hours based on training schedule. This position will travel statewide to accommodate meetings and trainings across all islands.
About the Organization: Lines for Life is a regional non-profit dedicated to preventing substance abuse and suicide. We offer help and hope to individuals and communities, and promote mental health for all. Our work addresses a spectrum of needs that include intervention, prevention, and advocacy. We educate, train, and advocate to prevent issues of substance abuse, mental illness, and thoughts of suicide from reaching crisis levels.
But when a crisis arises or support is needed, we are available 24/7/365 to intervene with personalized help.
The Hawaii Statewide Trainer leads Youth Line's training and education efforts throughout Hawaii. This position is responsible for delivering evidence-based suicide prevention trainings, facilitating Youth Line educational programming in schools, and supporting statewide initiatives that promote youth mental health and well-being.
The Hawaii Statewide Trainer coordinates and conducts training activities, provides guidance to schools and community partners, and helps expand access to suicide prevention and mental health education across Hawaii. This position also supports youth training initiatives, including Near Peer programming, training for youth-serving organizations, and community engagement.
The ideal candidate is an engaging facilitator with strong relationship-building skills who is passionate about youth mental health, suicide prevention, and empowering communities through education and training.
Hawaii Statewide Trainer Responsibilities Training Delivery & Facilitation- Demonstrate the culture of Lines for Life by modeling behavior that supports the organization's mission, goals, and philosophies.
- Facilitate evidence-based suicide prevention trainings, including ASIST, safeTALK, QPR, and other approved curricula.
- Deliver Youth Line educational presentations and youth mental health programming to schools, community organizations, and other audiences.
- Train Youth Line volunteers participating on the Youth Line help, support and crisis line in Maui and/or neighboring islands.
- Adapt training content and facilitation approaches to meet the needs of diverse participants and communities.
- Maintain instructor certifications and ensure fidelity to evidence-based training models.
- Serve as a subject matter resource related to youth mental health, suicide prevention, help-seeking behaviors, and Youth Line services.
- Coordinate statewide training schedules, registrations, materials, and logistics.
- Maintain training calendars and accurate training records.
- Track participant attendance, training completion, certifications, and related data.
- Collect and analyze evaluations and participant feedback to support continuous quality improvement. Collaborate with Youth Line Portland team for reporting.
