Our sensor deployments support real-world decision-making around indoor air quality, occupancy, environmental performance, facility planning, and building operations.

MKThink is building a trusted ad hoc field deployment pool of sensor deployment specialists to support projects as they arise. This is not a fixed part-time role or guaranteed weekly schedule. Instead, team members will be contacted for project-based deployments, site visits, troubleshooting, and documentation support based on location, availability, and project needs.

You will help install, configure, troubleshoot, and document sensing systems across indoor and outdoor sites, including IAQ sensors, occupancy sensors, weather stations, gateways, and related equipment.

Your work will directly support healthier buildings, better facility decisions, and more data-informed planning for schools, public agencies, and civic clients.

MKThink will provide required installation equipment, deployment materials, and MKThink field gear. Reimbursable expenses will be covered, and per diem will be provided for qualifying engagements over 6 hours

• Install, mount, label, and document sensors and gateways
• Troubleshoot WiFi, connectivity, power, firmware, and data sync issues
• Confirm sensors are properly configured and transmitting data
• Capture room dimensions using laser measurement or LiDAR
• Sketch and annotate floor plans for deployment documentation
• Log device IDs, locations, mounting height, orientation, and photos
• Coordinate professionally with site contacts, facilities teams, and occupants
• Follow site protocols and work respectfully in school, public agency, and community environments

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
• Comfortable using basic tools, ladders, and field equipment
• Able to work in indoor and outdoor deployment conditions
• Comfortable troubleshooting devices, WiFi, and setup issues
• Clear, professional, and respectful when working with clients and site occupants
• Interested in sensors, buildings, environmental monitoring, smart facilities, or field technology

• Sensor deployment or field installation experience preferred
• WiFi/network troubleshooting experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with IAQ, occupancy, weather, IoT, LoRaWAN, MQTT, BLE, or gateways is a plus
• Experience with LiDAR, laser measurement, CAD/GIS, or floorplan documentation is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and comfort following technical deployment protocols

You’ll be part of a growing deployment community supporting healthier buildings, smarter operations, and data-driven facility planning across real-world public and institutional projects. You’ll gain hands‑on experience with environmental sensing, smart building technology, field documentation, and applied facility analytics.
