Position Overview

The current vacancies are in the Repair and Maintenance Branch and the Construction Management Branch.

The Engineer V supervises the planning, design, construction, maintenance and/or operation of a number of major and complex engineering projects; or works independently on advanced planning, design or research projects involving elements of a highly critical or unprecedented nature; and performs other related duties as assigned.

• Legal Authorization to Work

  All persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
• Professional License
  :
  Must possess a valid State of Hawaii Professional Engineer license at the time of application.
• Basic Education
  : A bachelor’s degree from a school of engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university. Relevant substitutions may apply.
• Substitutions Allowed
  :
  Relevant substitutions as described in the complete Minimum Qualification Requirements.

• Four (4) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience.
• At least one (1) year of engineering experience comparable to the next lower level.
• Supervisory aptitude as described in the complete Minimum Qualification Requirements.

Some positions may require a valid driver’s license.
