Job Summary

Summary

The Senior Revenue Accountant plays a critical role within the Revenue Accounting team by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of revenue‑related financial data in a multi‑entity healthcare environment. Responsibilities include overseeing the month‑end close process, designing and improving revenue accounting policies, and delivering analysis that supports operational and financial decision‑making.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Must possess 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in revenue accounting or healthcare finance.
  • Must have experience with integrated ERP or accounting systems.
  • Must have supported year‑end audit requirements and contributed to audit readiness.
  • Preferred: CPA or progress toward CPA certification.
  • Preferred:
    Workday experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong judgment, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Expert understanding of healthcare revenue recognition and GAAP principles.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookup functions, complex formulas).
  • Strong grasp of financial statements and the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication of financial concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Revenue Accounting & Month‑End Close
  • Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries in compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead the month‑end close for all revenue streams, ensuring deadlines are met and variances are analyzed.
  • Calculate and maintain contractual and bad‑debt allowances for patient revenue, performing trend analysis and model refinements.
  • Perform detailed reviews of P&L and balance‑sheet accounts for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with operations.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
  • Prepare and present revenue‑related analyses to management, highlighting drivers, variances, and trends.
  • Support monthly financial review meetings with robust explanations of performance metrics.
  • Assist revenue forecasting and budgeting using historical data and variance analysis.
Reconciliations & Compliance
  • Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations for revenue‑related general ledger accounts.
  • Support external and internal audit requests, preparing schedules, explaining methodologies, and documenting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies, recommending improvements as necessary.
Process Improvement & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Billing, FP&A, Operations, and IT teams to improve data accuracy and closing efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
  • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and testing related to revenue accounting and reporting.
  • Support ad‑hoc financial and operational projects as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in a climate‑controlled office. May need to lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 25lbs. Duties involve sitting, standing, and walking with frequent position changes. Occasional travel (not exceeding 5% of work hours) may be required. Mandated use of self‑propelled safety equipment for infection prevention may be required.
