Salary: $4,054 to $5,133 per month (SR-14, Step C to I)

This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill immediate and future vacancies located at the Motor Vehicle Safety Office, Department of Transportation
- Highways, State of Hawaii.

Motor Carrier Safety Officers enforce laws related to commercial vehicles, including regulations on vehicle registration, safety and weight limits. Duties include conducting investigations, inspections, compliance surveys and other related duties.
QualificationsLegal Authorization to Work: Citizen, national, permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the U.S.
General
Experience:
One year of work experience demonstrating arithmetic knowledge, reading and understanding rules and regulations, conducting inspections or investigations for noncompliance, following instructions, and preparing clear reports.
Lifting Requirement:
- All positions require the ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds unassisted and up to 50 pounds assisted by another person or equipment.
Driver's License Requirement: Valid driver's license at time of appointment.
State's Measure master License: Must possess or obtain within 6 months probationary period.
