Job DescriptionAs an advanced trainee, receives increasingly complex cases while continuing to advance toward becoming an independent worker; engages in community outreach and resource database development; engages in direct service that may require ongoing intervention and assistance; and performs other related duties as required. There is one (1) immediate temporary full-time vacancy not-to-exceed June 30, 2028 with the Office of Aging - Access Division in Hilo.
The eligible list may be used for other permanent and temporary vacancies as they arise during the life of the list. Temporary appointment may lead to conversion to permanent appointment.
- Participates in cases that may include those with a variety of psychosocial, physical, mental, and environmental issues and may involve families in which discord exists.
- Works with interdisciplinary team members to ensure effective case coordination.
- Refers to established policies and procedures, casework methods and techniques, and independent judgment to address more routine aspects of casework.
- Participates in health fairs and other public events island-wide to increase public knowledge of the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) and services available; distributes ADRC promotional materials.
- Provides information to the public regarding aging and disability issues and available community services and resources.
- Participates in the development of a resource database; reviews data to maintain the accuracy and currency of information; ensures accessibility to the public and to persons with disabilities.
- Assists in organizing appropriate committee meetings, community public relations and educational events; prepares informational brochures and electronic presentations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Training and Experience : A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to:
- graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate degree, and
- one (1) year of professional work experience which involved case management or support planning in social services, health, or education.
License Requirement: possession of a valid State of Hawai'i driver's license (Class
3) or any other valid comparable driver's license at time of filing.
