Skills Required - Nutrition Assessment for pediatric to geriatric patients, Medical Nutrition Therapy for acute care, long term care, and critical care, Ability to estimate nutrition needs such as caloric, protein, and fluid needs, Nutrition Support (Parenteral/Enteral Nutrition), Nutrition Education, Food Service Management, Ability to chart in electronic medical records, ability to develop and update nutrition care plans, Minimum Data Sets
Minimum one year experience of clinical nutrition experience
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
Registered Dietician by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Shift or schedule requirements.
5-8 hour shifts (40 hours), No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
Dietitian needs to work five days a week and this includes weekends. Weekends are required. Shift is 7am to 3:30pm. The employee may be required to work alone but not on a routine basis. The employee will probably be off on Tuesday and Wednesday
Floating to other units/departments.
Dietitian will be stationed at the food and nutrition services department but will provide nutrition and dietetic services for other units at the hospital such as the medical unit, surgical/pediatric unit, progressive care unit, OB unit, intensive care unit, long term care unit, and psychiatric unit. One day a month, Dietitian will be providing services at Ka'u Hospital and Hilo Hospital which is a long term care facility.
