Pay Rate- $22.39-$30.29 (Compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience)

About the Role:

The Billing Specialist handles all billing tasks, including maintaining patient accounts, processing charges and payments, submitting claims, following up on denials, and assisting with eligibility, while coordinating with staff to ensure accurate and timely information.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or GED certificate and two years related experience and/or training in medical billing is required; OR any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

The Billing Specialist handles accurate and timely billing data entry, maintains patient accounts, processes claims and payments, monitors receivables, resolves denials, and supports collections, reporting, and compliance, while coordinating with staff and assisting with eligibility and coding accuracy.

  • Enter billing data accurately and on time
  • Maintain and update patient account information
  • Ensure correct billing to insurance and payers
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports
  • Send patient billing statements on schedule
  • Track and record collections
  • Monitor accounts receivable and reprocess claims
  • Help patients set up payment plans
  • Process refunds for over payments
  • Suggest improvements to billing processes
  • Update CPT and ICD-10 codes as required
  • Review and update fee schedules
  • Maintain provider insurance information
  • Assist with eligibility/verification as needed
  • Support accurate coding with staff and providers
Skills:

Requires basic office and computer skills, knowledge of billing and coding, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, follow instructions, and meet deadlines.
