Salary: $3,333 to $4,221 per month (SR‑09, Step C to I)

Participates in computing, adjusting, and preparing bills involving pro‑rated charges for a variety of services and payers as a primary assignment; performs other related duties as assigned. Determines and verifies charges to a variety of medical insurance plans, prepares bills to insurers and/or patients, and checks the status of a patient's medical plan for verification.

• Legal authorization to work:
  Hawai‘i requires all persons seeking employment with the government to be U.S. citizens, nationals, permanent resident aliens, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
• General experience:
  One (1) year of work experience that demonstrates ability to perform arithmetic computations, compare names and numbers rapidly and accurately, and read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Specialized experience:
  One (1) year of progressively responsible work experience involving the computation and preparation of bills, demonstrating knowledge of office practices and procedures, operation of common office appliances and equipment, billing methods and procedures, and the ability to interpret and apply billing regulations and policies.
