CVU RN - Varied Shift

Job Overview

Progressive Care Unit (15 beds) and Step Down ICU (12 telemetry beds). Primary nursing care is required. Candidates will perform telemetry monitoring and strip reading, fingerstick blood glucose checks, Meditech charting, Pyxis medication dispensing, and use BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring devices.

• Provide primary nursing care in Progressive Care Unit and Step Down ICU.
• Monitor telemetry, read strip results, and perform fingerstick glucose checks.
• Document patient care using Meditech charting and dispense medications via Pyxis.
• Utilize BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment.

• Active State of Hawaii nursing license required by the start of assignment (unlicensed candidates must obtain a license within the allocation period).
• Minimum of 1 year of recent (within the last year) acute care hospital experience; progressive care and telemetry experience preferred.
• Certifications:
  
  ACLS preferred, current PALS preferred, NIHSS certification preferred.
• Availability to float to other acute units (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER) as needed.

• Scheduled 36 hours per week following first week of orientation.
• Hours not guaranteed; no call coverage.

Cardiac Progressive Care (CPCU)

Meditech, Pyxis, BIPAP, continuous cardiac monitoring.
