Job Description

The Dietary Aide plays an important role in supporting resident health, safety, and quality of life by helping ensure meals are prepared, served, and documented accurately according to individual dietary needs. This position serves as a key link between residents, families, dietary staff, and clinical teams to promote positive dining experiences and nutritional well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with meal service by checking trays for accuracy, portion sizes, presentation, and compliance with prescribed diets before delivery to residents.
- Process diet changes under the supervision of the Dietary Supervisor and follow Dietitian instructions for therapeutic diets.
- Maintain dietary records and perform clerical duties including filing, invoice tracking, report preparation, inventory monitoring, and office support.
- Meet with residents and families to discuss food preferences and dietary needs and participate in resident care plan meetings.
- Monitor food temperatures, sanitation practices, and food safety standards to support regulatory compliance and resident safety.
- Attend required training, staff meetings, and in-service education programs while maintaining positive working relationships with residents, families, and team members.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions; knowledge of basic nutrition, sanitation, and food storage practices preferred; ability to maintain regular attendance and meet applicable health requirements.
