Therapist – Oahu and Hilo
This position is responsible for the delivery of community-based therapy and skills training services with children experiencing serious emotional and behavioral disorders. This position is expected to work within the program and policy directives of the Children's Services Program of the Wai'anae Coast Community Mental Health Center, Inc. /Hale Na'au Pono.

Clinical Director shall provide clinical supervision. The position description, program policies and procedures, applicable State and Federal laws, and the standards and requirements of the pertinent professional organizational and disciplines also guide this position.

Core Functions:
- Administrative Duties:
Submit charge tags for services provided within one working day. Receives assignments for the week and/or by the day, from the Children's Team Clinical Director. Maintains confidentiality of the persons served, and an ethical code of conduct at all times. Complies with current policies for health and safety procedures at all times. - Clinical Duties:
Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary team with the persons served, and implements the services that the team prescribes. Provides individual therapy and family therapy using the family strengths and evidence-based methodologies. Services will be mobile, conducted almost completely in the home or community, school and can include the provision of transportation. Participates in Pre-Admission Meetings prior to youth placement.
Assists when applicable with the admissions process by assisting the individuals and/or families served in the introduction of the Intensive In-Home Program. Provides Assessment at admission, at the end of the month and at discharge for each youth. Develops youth/family Mental Health Treatment Plans within 10 days of service admission. Submits Monthly Treatment Plan Summary for each youth by the 3rd day of the following month.
Provides direction, training and supervision of paraprofessional support workers in the implementation of the MHTP. Participates with other service providers, as appropriate, to accomplish joint services planning and to facilitate the provision of services to persons served. Respects the cultural values and beliefs of persons served. Provides services with the expected outcome of the interdisciplinary team and the persons served.
Provides face-to-face contact, and documents applicable information according to policy in the progress notes records of the persons served within one working day. The date, time, duration and service codes indicated on the progress notes will correspond with the master treatment plan. Maintaining case records of persons served according to policy, and making face-to-face contact weekly according to treatment plan at least once per week.
Maintains records of assigned families served to comply with quality assurance reviews. Serves on-call 24 hours, 7 days a week and provides crisis intervention and stabilization services as assigned. - Youth & Family Services:
Participates in the "Wraparound"/individual services planning meeting with the individual and/or family team. Acts as a consultant and therapist with assigned families, working in the home, at school, or where the need arises. Provides as much time with youth and the family as requested. Intervening with the family using strengths based approach, strategies for parenting in the home/behavior management skills are developed which are needed for the family to handle on-going problems and giving assistance in the implementation of the behavior plan.
Explore resources for persons served and makes appropriate recommendations to the Youth and Family team. Provides therapy with persons served by other therapist on the team when the assigned therapist is not available.
